The Chronicles of Narnia series of films is based on ‘The Chronicles of Narnia’, a series of novels by C. S. Lewis. From the seven books, The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe (2005), Prince Caspian (2008) and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader (2010) adapted. They grossed over $1.5 billion worldwide.

What happened to The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair?

When the agreement with Walden Media’s contract, C. S. Lewis entered into an agreement with The Mark Gordon Company to produce an adaptation of The Silver Chair. It was announced on 1 October 2013. It was announced that David Magee would write the screenplay. Also in July 2014, the official Narnia website allowed fans to suggest names for the Lady of the Green Kirtle, the main antagonist. Then the winning name was to be selected by Mark Gordon and David Magee for use in the final script of The Silver Chair.

The film’s producers mentioned that the film has a new creative team not associated with the previous three films. Sony’s TriStar Productions and Entertainment One Films announced that they will finance and distribute the fourth film with The Mark Gordon Company. In April 2017, It was also heard that Joe Johnston had been hired to direct The Silver Chair.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair: Netflix Series

On 3 October 2018, it was announced that Netflix and the C. S. Lewis Company had made a multi-year agreement to develop a new series of film and TV adaptations of The Chronicles of Narnia. On 12 June 2019, it was announced that Matthew Aldrich will serve as the creative architect and oversee the development of Narnia films and television for Netflix.

The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair – Release Date

There was no official word on the status of The Chronicles of Narnia: The Silver Chair movie for two years. Now, Netflix is developing Narnia adaptations and Gresham is waiting to get more information from them. The future of Narnia 4 is in serious doubt, as Netflix has acquired the rights to the book series. Netflix says they’ll create movies and TV shows

With the rights for Narnia 4: The Silver Chair passing from studio to studio — first Disney, then Walden Media, and then The Mark Gordon Company — this was just another step in Narnia’s confusing journey to screen.
