Game of Thrones has such a vast fandom that almost everyone has a different set of characters they vehemently ship. From wanting Brienne and Jaime to end up together, to wanting Arya and Gendry to fall in love, there’s no dearth of potential relationships in the show. A huge fan favourite is Greyworm is Missandei and it is easy to see why. Greyworm, trained as an Unsullied, has had a hard and painful life and so has Missandei, a former slave girl from Astapor who lost all her family. If anyone deserves love and a happy ending, it’s these two. Missandei teaching Greyworm the Common Tongue
Both, Missandei and Greyworm speak Valerian, however, this language is outdated, with only places in Esos conversing in them. Now that they are headed to Westeros, they must learn to converse in a language that everyone speaks and understands. Missandei has always known how to speak in the common tongue and its heartwarming to see her teach the same to Greyworm. What really makes this scene is the two of them exchanging stories of their lives and getting to know each other.

This scene begins with Greyworm thanking Missandei for teaching him the common tongue. He says that the lessons are precious to him. Missandei then asks him about his birth name but he tells her he cannot remember, nor can he remember when the slave masters cut him to become an unsullied. Missandei expresses her sorrow at this, to which Greyworm says he’s glad it happened because then he never would have been bought by Dany or met Missandei. This is a scene where every fibre of your being will be internally yelling at Missandei to say something back to Greyworm. But she doesn’t.

So, here’s another scene that will turn even the most avid non-Greyworm-Missandei-shippers to fervent shippers! Missandei visits Greyworm after he is injured in an ambush and he tells her about how he experienced fear on the field. She replies by saying that all men fear death but Greyworm corrects her saying that what he feared was not death, but not being able to see her again. Finally, Missandei cannot hold back her emotions and she kisses Greyworm, which obviously sparks a lot of joy in the viewer’s heart!
Game of Thrones is filled with tragic stories, death, and sadness, but their arc is one that we hope will remain untouched that all that. After all, these characters have already been through a terrible ordeal. Now, it is time for them to be happy.
