Call of Duty®: WWII-Review

Call of Duty WWII brings back the nostalgia of the early Call of Duty games, and where the game got famous – World War II campaigns. I’ve read a number of reviews highlighting how the story line may be way too linear and thus not as fun, but I kinda beg to differ.

Compared to CoD MW series, Call of Duty: WWII in my view is a lot more challenging, simply because the weaponry of that era makes it much harder to get away with just blasting your way through a game. The only bugbear for me are some of the plays involving tanks and planes, which are difficult to control using a keyboard. It does make me feel that the game was not thoroughly tested enough on the PC platform, as it shows once you add a controller to play those stages.

From the actual military photographs to a video game 70 years later. One of the best times you can have. The historic element is there, for the first time in history this media is able to be portrayed exactly together with director’s visions; Not constrained by pixel limitations. A fully realized experience. A big deal for WW2 remembrance

The single player, I feel like, took the hardest hit in the decline of murder potential. There’s only really one level I liked to play, and even then I didn’t really enjoy myself all that much. Say what you want about Call of Duty but they know how to make it flashy, and WW2 just kind of lacks that flashiness.

Multiplayer is…Alright, like a Big Mac or a back rub behind a McDonalds. The problem with the guns feeling weak persists to the multiplayer mode, so It feels like you’re playing paintball rather than fighting.
A paintball game where people sometimes get stabbed and blown up.

There’s a new mode ,I think its new at least, called Ground War, that has scenarios for two teams to fight over, one attacks and the other defends. It gives narrative to what you’re doing and can be fun. The problem is that basically all of its contemporaries have the same mode under a different name, only better

Overall, this has been a fun game to play and would encourage others to play as well.
