About KurtzPel(Video Game)

KurtzPel is a 3rd Person, Anime-Inspired, Action Battle Game created by KOG, the developers of Grand Chase and Elsword Online.

You can enjoy various 2vs2 PvP Modes queued up by a smart, automated match-making system.
Or, you can embark upon a larger-than-life, raid style, quest driven battle system against big, bad boss monsters.

In KurtzPel, classic action game dynamics are enabled when players empower their characters with 2, separate jobs (Karma) that can be used interchangeably.

KurtzPel(Video Game)-Review

For everyone who wants to get the game for the PvE part of the game: Don’t. This game focuses mostly on it’s PvP aspect of the game. And it’s hella fun (for the most part).

The fighting and combos feel very satisfying and can be very rewarding when mastered.
However, alot of times the game won’t work properly. Like enemies simply ignoring your hits or skills not doing what they’re supposed to do. Probably because of the lag there is in every match. Sometimes one can compensate that but alot of times your combos get ruined because of the lag.

Character customization is great. Many options and sliders one can play around with.
There are only a handful outfits but because of the dyeing system these can look very different.
Most of the outfits can be gained via the auction house. Other ways to gain them is spamming the (pretty boring and grindy) PvE missions, season pass rewards and buying stuff from the cash shop.

Every piece of clothing and accessory have two randomized stats tied to them, these can be rerolled with certain stones and CP (the ingame money). You get stones by playing daily. Stats can come in different rarity levels and can make a huge difference in your character’s performance. Rerolling for stats is where most of your CP will go (when not saving up for stuff from the auction house).

Progression is the one part I am not a fan of. There are multiple weapons/classes called “Karmas”. These can be leveled up by playing them. It takes quite a bit to level them up to the max but it’s doable. Everytime you level these up you unlock a bunch of passive and active abilities. These cost DP (a currency you get from playing the game and required to unlock new abilities) and CP to unlock. Some of the active abilities one can unlock are way better suited for most situations and most of the passive abilities are straight up permanent stat boosts such as more stamina or mana.
In my opinion competitive PvP games should give everyone an even playing field instead of giving people who are playing longer a huge advantage over newer players.
Of course you could just do spam PvE missions to level them up, but PvP is actually faster from my experiences and less tedious.

The community is a mixed bag. There are alot of people just sitting in lobbies just chatting. These are usually the more chill and friendly people. When it comes to your teammates in matches however, they can be really toxic. This usually happens in mid to high tier matches.

Do I recommend this game? I’d say maybe. But since I have to choose between “Yes” or “No” I lean more towards “Yes”.
Core mechanics are really fun and the cute anime aesthetics are really my thing. When it works, it works and I have a blast playing the game, but many times it won’t work as intended leading to immeasurable frustration.
