My story of getting introduced to this whole new world of Player Unkown’s Battle Ground or as we know it as PUBG Mobile goes back a year. I was highly interested in mobile strategy games and was a regular player of Clash of Clans and Clash Royale for a long time. However, with the rising popularity of PUBG, it was challenging to keep me away from its influence. As I slowly began to realize that most of my friends were changing ships and moving on to this sensation of a game, I had a choice to make. The category of games that PUBG mobile classified under is known as Battle Royale, and I had no experience of it as such. But it was probably the fear of missing out (or FOMO) that made me download that game, and I was in for a surprise.
PUBG Mobile was something that I had never experienced before, and I realized what the hype was for surrounding this game. The sixth season of the game had just started. One of the most exciting parts was choosing a unique gaming name. The sheer variety of maps and weapons in the game amazed me and left me in a problem as to how I would be able to gain expertise about using each of them.
Now, a year down the line, I have only been able to gain expertise in certain aspects of the game. For someone who is starting to play the game, I would say it is essential to learn the flexibility of fingers. The coordination between eyes and fingers is the most critical condition to excel in a game like PUBG. Decisions need to take in a split second, and that decision decides whether one would survive or one would perish.
I would like to start by explaining how the game works and then go on to tell the tricky and adventurous maps of the game. PUBG is a game of survival. One person can play as a single-player, or team up with another guy, or even play in a squad of four people. Initially, the person needs to jump from a moving plane and land on any of the various places on the map, collect weapons and other ammunition. Then from there, the player needs to move and themselves within a circle that keeps closing in as time passes. The last one to survive in that circle gets the coveted “Winner Winner Chicken Dinner’. However, no matter how easy it sounds, the opponent is there to make it difficult for one to survive. Face to face combats or sniper battles, we get to see a plethora of strategies from various teams and individuals to survive, and that is the beauty of the game. It is a potent mix of skills and strategies.
For someone new to the game, it might turn out to be challenging to choose which maps to play in. I will describe in brief details of the plans and how I wanted them as a newbie.
Maps in PUBG Mobile
- ERANGEL
This map heaven for newbies. When I started playing the game, Erangel turned out to be the best map for a newcomer to get introduced to the nitty-gritty of the game. This map has a great mix of open spaces, ridges, and buildings. As a beginner, one bound to make mistakes, and that would require taking up the cover; this map allows a player to do that with ease. If face to face combat is what one likes, even then, this map has specific areas that will enable great face to face battles. As this is quite a large map, it allows players to get some time and stay within the circle as it keeps closing in. Mastering the gaming controls requires some time, and this map will enable players to do it.
- MIRAMAR
Miramar is the second map I will be talking about, this is a desert map, and as we imagine a desert to be an open area, this map is rightly so. As a player, when one starts to gain some amount of expertise on the controls, they can move on to this map. This map is the most extensive in the game, and one needs to take up face to face combats to move ahead. Because of the sheer nature of this map, players have very few areas to take cover, only the ridges and blocks of stones help them to take cover. So one needs to be extremely agile if one wants to win in this map. So once a player has gained a certain amount of experience in the Erangel map, they can try and play in this map to improve their combat abilities.
- SANHOK
My favorite map and one of the most challenging maps to conquer in PUNG mobile. It is a jungle map, and a player needs to be extremely cautious of their opponents hiding in plain sight among bushes or behind trees or in the grass. This map significantly improves the observational abilities of a player. It is challenging to spot out camouflaged enemies, and in the initial days, I even didn’t realize where a bullet was hitting me. So one needs to be cautious while moving ahead in this map, and also, this is a small map. The circle closing in time is even less, thereby posing challenges to players, and I have seen nail-biting finishes on this map. The rush of adrenaline is always high while playing in Sanhok.
- VIKENDI
This map is a pleasure to the eyes. When I started in Season six, this map used to be a beta version, but now it has turned out to be a full-fledged map. This map comprises snow-clad mountains, and there are great hideouts and open areas also. The ridges, hills, and flowers make this map a scenic route. I enjoy playing on this map just for the visuals.
