About Deep Rock Galactic

Deep Rock Galactic is a 1-4 player co-op FPS featuring badass space Dwarves, 100% destructible environments, procedurally-generated caves, and endless hordes of alien monsters.

1-4 PLAYER CO-OP

Work together as a team to dig, explore, and fight your way through a massive cave system filled with hordes of deadly enemies and valuable resources. You will need to rely on your teammates if you want to survive the most hostile cave systems in the galaxy!

4 UNIQUE CLASSES

Pick the right class for the job. Mow through enemies as the Gunner, scout ahead and light up the caves as the Scout, chew through solid rock as the Driller, or support the team with defensive structures and turrets as the Engineer.

FULLY DESTRUCTIBLE ENVIRONMENTS

Destroy everything around you to reach your goal. There is no set path so you can complete your mission your way. Drill straight down to your objective or build an intricate network of paths to explore your surroundings — the choice is yours. But proceed with caution, you don’t want to stumble into an alien swarm unprepared!

PROCEDURALLY GENERATED CAVE NETWORK

Explore a network of procedurally generated cave systems filled with enemies to fight and riches to collect. There’s always something new to discover and no two playthroughs are alike.

HIGH-TECH GADGETS AND WEAPONS

Dwarves know what they need to bring to get the job done. This means the most powerful weapons and the most advanced gadgets around – flamethrowers, gatling guns, portable platform launchers, and much, much more.

LIGHT YOUR PATH

The underground caves are dark and full of terrors. You will need to bring your own lights if you want to illuminate these pitch-black caverns.

Deep Rock Galactic Review

This game has a lot to offer, from beer, dwarves, alien insects to awesome beards for customizing your badass dwarf. I first stumbled upon this game around Update 8 or 9 and I thought to myself “hmm, this game looks like lots of fun”. I managed to buy it a little later, around Update 16 or 17. Anyway, I was astonished by this game from the first mission. At some moments it feels a little repetitive, but that’s mostly because you’re playing alone. I decided to nag some friends into buying it and the game showed it’s true potential (just to clarify, the game is tons of fun when you play it solo too, but I can see how it could get a little boring for some people).
Playing this game with friends is easily the best recipe for almost endless hours of fun! The game has 4 classes and a party would consist of 4 people at most. Each character is unique in it’s own way.

  • The Driller is a class which has a flamethrower, a small caliber pistol, 2 drill arms to go through dirt and stone like it’s butter and some c4, because blowing stuff up is fun!
  • The Gunner is a class based on mowing ♥♥♥♥ down as fast as possible and he’s equiped with mean lean killing machine of a gatling gun, basically a deagle (for them cool one digs), a zipline gun used for shooting ziplines across the cave for mobility and a shield generator to help yourself and/or your teammates when they’re overwhelmed by enemies.
  • The Enginear is a pretty balanced class when it comes to the arsenal and mobility (in my opinion), he is equiped with a shotgun, a granade launcher, a platform gun that shoots platforms on any surface and it’s very useful to climb walls and cross gaps and his last piece of equipment is a sentry gun that’s great for protection and for defending different spots.
  • The Scout is the class with the highest mobility and survivability (again, in my opinion) and his equipment consists of an SMG, a double barrel shotgun, a zipline gun that could be used to yeet himslef and himself only around the cave and flare gun which shoots big flares that lighten up a big area and it’s great for the moments when you are getting swarmed.

Lastly, I have to add that the things mentioned about the classes, it’s just a portion of what the game offers. There are also new guns you get as you progress through the game, upgrades for your weapons, different types of throwable grenades, perks that you can unlock and combine them for different play styles, beer, a shop to customize your character and more beer.
All in all, I give this game a solid 9/10. The only thing that I would consider a con, would be some performance issues and not enough beer.
