Thanos snap

Fun isn’t something one considers when balancing the universe. But, this does put a smile on my face”

It’s Friday and Google has joined the Avengers: Endgame frenzy in some style.

If you Google search for ‘Thanos’ you will see a animation of the infinity stone studded gauntlet on the right hand side, just beside where it says ‘Fictional Supervillain’. If you click on the gauntlet, the animation shows a snap just like Thanos did in Avengers: Infinity War to wipe out half of the universe.

So once the ‘snap’ happens you will see the page move up and down as different posts turn to dust and vanish. It is random just like Thanos said: At random. Dispassionate and fair to the rich and poor alike.

We are in the Endgame now, so all our remaining Avengers are trying to undo what Thanos did. You can do the same – To undo Thanos’ destruction, simply click on the gauntlet icon again. You will see the animation of using the Time Stone to restore the search results. It would have been pretty cool if the gauntlet was capable of summoning other Infinity Stones as well.

Google’s new Easter egg works on select browsers, including its own Google Chrome. The feature also works on the desktop version of Chrome.

It’s not the first time Google has slipped such Easter egg within its search results. For instance, you can simply search ‘do a barrel roll’ to see the entire web page flipping in 360-degrees. Similarly, you can search ‘askew’ to have the slanted web layout. Video game fans can search for ‘zerg rush’. Some of the popular Google search Easter eggs are ‘recursion’, ‘anagram’ and ‘once in a blue moon’.

Avengers: Endgame, the 22nd movie in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, released in India today.
